I also hired and evaluated contractors on behalf of owners, which means I’ve seen what great looks like from both sides of the table.

Here’s what separates the companies that last from the ones that stall: it was never the building. The best builders win because they operate better companies, better systems, better discipline, less dependence on any one person. Average builders are still treating operations as paperwork.
